About manual & chain-operated roller doors
Small and medium doors work well as manual push-up doors: springs inside the barrel balance the curtain, so it lifts easily by hand. Large and heavy doors use a chain-and-gearbox operator, where you pull a hand chain to wind the door up and down with little effort.
Manual and chain-operated doors are simple, affordable and keep working during power cuts. They can usually be motorised later.
Best for
- Smaller shopfronts and garages
- Large warehouse doors used occasionally
- Sites with unreliable power
- Lower-budget projects
Residential, commercial or industrial
